DEX Salon Can Turn A Borderline Mullet Into The Chic Katie Holmes

I recently had the pleasure of getting my hair cut and styled at the innovative DEX New York Salon in midtown Manhattan. DEX is a salon, makeup spa, and photography studio all in one – making for a truly unique space. My stylist, Scott Wasserman, turned my overgrown bob into a sleek, Katie Holmes 'do (not Katie when she was going through her dramatic flapper phase, but the current, I just finished a hip New York Broadway play and I'm fabulous Katie). After the session, Scott shared some of his tips with SheFinds as well as his preferred products.

DEX stocks their shelves with Esuchen Chihtsai and Paul Brown – and for good reason. The Chihtsai 3D shampoo is ultra hydrating, which works well for color-treated or damaged hair. Paul Brown's conditioners smell incredible and won't weigh hair down.

Scott used NPPE Molding Clay on my hair after drying it. (He suggested not using any product before blowdrying as clean hair is easier to maneuver.) The clay is made from botanical extracts and is therefore gentler on your hair and skin. This is great news since my face tends to break out where my hair continually brushes across my forehead. He took a dab of the clay and applied it from the base of my head up, smooshing it in roots to tips, and then pulling the strands down. It worked wonders to create that piecey effect I am always after. I highly highly recommend this clay– and this method. And Scott.

This sounds great. I did not go to Dex for my hair but I did go because I went to get my makeup done. The makeup was great. They had so many different shades and colors. If you like the hair styling then you will love the makeup.
