To pull off a similar look, pay attention to a few key details that make this dress work so well: the lively print, defined waist, and modest neckline.
We love the crazy, statement-making print on this satin dress ($1,135) – and that the simple cut keeps it wearable. We could see the First Lady in this more spring-y version ($25) come April. For a relaxed take, pair this floral silk dress ($158) with opaque footless tights and black patent flats.
As far as footwear, you can copy Michelle’s clean-lined look with any number of black patent pairs. THE EMPEROR WEARS NO CLOTHES!! The Black & Red (BLACK WIDOW) dress and the White (CHENILLE BEDSPREAD) with the misplaced strap WERE AWFUL for our FIRST LADY to wear to represent the USA. Most of my Black friends are fashion icons, I think Michelle NEEDS TO BORROW OPRAH’s ‘WARDROBE PERSON’ to pick clothes that are EYECANDY to the masses.
She needs to get a Stylist FAST. The Inaguration was not a cocktail party and the balls were not her high school prom.
Stop your hating! She looked beautiful to say the least. She is the First Lady and NOT some clothes hungry self indulgent woman. Everyone of her choices has been on point. She has magazine articles and covers to prove it — so find something else to focus your negative energy on. She is awesome — and too smart to give a good damn about any of this petty stuff.

Our First Lady Michelle Obama has a lovely figure. The yellow/green outfit proved that! NO ARGUMENT that she is a Great Role model, College Graduate, Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, etc. .. The First Lady is not a Fashion Icon, THEREFORE someone needs do that job for her. (Nancy Reagon was the last First Lady to ‘DRESS HER PART’)

First Lady Michelle Obama has been dressing herself for years and has done just fine. She dosen’t need you or any third party trying to remake her for some crazy reason like being a “fashion icon.” Having a high fashion hand bag or the right shoes isn’t going to raise the stature of the US around the world. Find something else to direct your energy toward and get off the fashion police beat.
Michelle Obama was fierce from Saturday on through Wednesday. And the dress she wore to the prayer service was the best. Big whoop that your friends are so called “fashion icons.” It is important to keep in mind that our first Lady is not trying to be a fashion icon, she is striving to be a good mother, wife, and role model; and the latter stands head and shoulders above the self indulgent title of “fashion icon” anytime.
