Get The Look: Rachel McAdams Travels Back To The ’90s For Vogue
Rachel McAdams demonstrates the ladylike trend rather well here in Vogue’s January issue, on stands Dec. 22. She looks a little old for her age (33) but we can’t get enough of those shoes–which, actually, look almost exactly like the red pumps in our Taste Test from yesterday. We can’t help but think the floral corset dress is a little ’90s, which is appropriate, because when Vogue asked about her perfect day, she described a sick day she took in 1995:
“‘I grew up watching so much television. I was really into soap operas. I’d begin with Days of our Lives, then Another World, and finish off with General Hospital. And before dinner I’d watch Oprah. I would fake sick all the time to the point where I’d convince myself I was sick.”
Spoken like a truly down-to-earth celeb, this makes us like her even more. Want to get the festive look–for a lot less? Here we go:
These painterly floral dress has a flattering shape, and totally channels McAdams’s look, above, without looking too much like one of Madonna’s old cast-offs-for way cheaper.
These inexpensive bow peep toe shoes are cute with jeans for more casual holiday parties as well. (We recommend not going full-on Vogue just yet with a red shoes and red dress–it doesn’t quite work.)

These Kenneth Jay Lane crystal earrings fit the bill for a little festivity–and you can continue to wear them well after the presents are unwrapped–and they’re costume jewelry, so no need to worry about them.
Not your style? Maybe you’d rather channel Michelle Obama’s festive look. Plus, we’ve got a slew of festive attire and party shoes to choose from.
