Get Me Off Me Already: More Adventures In Removing This Stupid Tattoo

I recently went for my fifth tattoo removal treatment at Reflections Center for Skin & Body in Livingston, NJ. Although I've said this on numerous occasions, let me repeat, the tattoo does not say Me. It was supposed to be my astrological sign (Virgo) but got distorted when in all of my 19-year-old brilliance I decided a tribal heart around the sign would be "cute". Needless to say, I have since regretted my decision and am in the process of getting it lasered off.

Reflections has been very helpful in talking me through the process, and while the past few treatments have been pretty painless, this last one was, well, a bit more uncomfortable.  In order to speed things along, the doctor upped the intensity of the laser, which stung more, but surprisingly stopped hurting less than an hour after leaving the office. My recovery time has been minimal the more treatments I have, and as you can see from the pics above, Me is slowly but surely on its way out.

A good cover-up is ideal for camouflaging a tattoo, but lately I've been experimenting with trendy one-shoulder tops to cover the mistake on my back shoulder. When going out on the town, ones like this cobalt Parker Top ($141) hide my ink while maintaining the illusion of a strappy tank. Ah, can't wait for those strappy tanks.
