All good things must come to an end, even the second season of our
beloved Gossip Girl. After last week’s bizarre foray into the ‘80s
(misguided fashions included), last night’s season finale reminded us
why this show not only wildly entertains us, but also serves as an
unequivocal style bible.
From Penelope and her cronies' flirty, bright floral dresses, to
Jenny's layered necklace, floral motifs dominated last
night wardrobe choices. Statement necklaces incorporating flowers,
such as the David Aubrey one Blair wore over her cap and gown, are a great way to
enhance a simple dress or blouse. For a floral look with a punch of color,
check out this layered turquoise necklace from Target ($50).
Another way to instantly update your closet is with a chic and
versatile bold-colored dress, like the Jay Godfrey design Serena wore
throughout the majority of the episode. Buy the real deal at Singer22 ($460), or try this cocktail dress from Rebecca Taylor ($345) that has a similarly interesting cut and bright hue.
