I Resolve To Ditch My Ballet Flats And Attempt More Height

I heart ballet flats. And my boyfriend (who is 6’5”) would tell you I love them too much. I have a pair of black Tory Burch for the weekend brunch, silvery slip-ons for going out, green patent for a preppy work look, red plaid ones for whenever the mood strikes, a leopard print pair that goes with everything, and countless black/brown/tan ones that fill every moment in-between. He’s started commenting that he’s getting a cramp in his neck when he leans down to kiss me.

Now before you start feeling too badly for him, I’m 5’9” and at times, very conscious of my height. Three-inch heels aren’t my ideal because I hate towering over co-workers. So while my resolution is to wear more heels, I’m going to do it slowly and reasonably.

I like these kitten heels from J. Renee Darra ($80) because they remind me a bit of my beloved ballet flats. And maybe I'll go a little higher with these kicky booties from Calvin Klein ($118.80, were $198) for nights out. We already know a hidden platform makes for easier walking.

Killer Kushionz

To keep my pampered feet from complaining about the change, I’ll use inserts like Foot Petals Killer Kushionz, which work miracles and cost less than $20.

And of course, I’m counting on plenty of foot massages from my boyfriend.

I encourage you to try more height as well, esp. with platform shoes, they do make it more comfortable. Your height is already an advantage, just think how great your stature will be with even just a kitten heel, given that you gave great posture of course.

Look fantastic! Personally I love the boots.
