Louboutin Creates One More Obstacle To Be Crushed In The Cankles Rights Movement

Shoe-genius, Christian Louboutin plans to be the next big name to give Barbie a fashion makeover – but according to his spokespeople, she needs a little work done before she’s fit to slip into his famous red-soled pumps. Apparently, the French designer found Barbie’s ankles to be a little too fat and wants them slimmed down for his shoes. Well of course. There’s nothing more repulsive than plastic cankles.  However, let’s give Barbie a break; she’s had to maintain her perfect body for over fifty years now.

There’s a lot of hooplah concerning body image in the fashion industry as of late: first Brigitte magazine’s announcement that it will no longer feature models, then Karl Lagerfeld’s rebuttal, and now this. But while we are principled people, we’d still love some luxurious Louboutins, though we’ll stay inside a more earthly price bracket.
