The McQueen line for Target is available on the website today, and although the ads with that bug-eyed Blythe doll have garnered palpable hype (especially around New York) since last month, I was less than impressed when I shopped the collection in an actual Target store, fluorescent lights and all.

The racks were pretty full, which is usually a kiss of death. No pillaging equals sub-par goods. The Strapless Tattoo Print Dress was displayed front and center, with an un-Target pricetag of $80. While this dress may look adorable on a plastic doll, no woman of voting age should waste her hard-earned $80. However, there were a few items worth the trek.
This Zig Zag Print Scarf ($30) is the only thing I took home, yet I still had a hard time shelling out $30 for it. With that said, the pink is fun, and it can definitely dress up an evening blazer.
This studded Harness Bikini (top, $20, bottom $20) is a nice departure from the standard black two-piece.

Pair the Hi Waist Gore Skirt ($50) with a sleeveless tank and modern gladiators for an upbeat alternative to your black cocktail dress.

I agree, it was just “meh.” The only thing I liked was the blue tattoo scarf and like you, I had to think about it before buying it. The quality of the clothes isn’t all that great and it’s too teenagery for my tastes. I lived through the ’80s once before, thanks.
Blech! too boring.
