There’s a little bit of a flap at the moment between the White House and the Italian luxury goods brand VBH. VBH maintains that (our favorite) Michelle Obama carried their $5,950 black alligator clutch earlier this week in Moscow. The White House claims she used the less expensive version, priced at $875.

Guess what? I don’t care. We should all appreciate the fact that Michelle never has an off-sartorial moment. And in addition to the pricier things, she wears items from the Gap and J. Crew and has embraced high-low dressing.
Do we really want our First Lady to appear next to all the other wives of various heads-of-state, clad head-to-toe in Forever 21? Yeah, didn’t think so.
If you want to copy the more affordable version of her clutch, consider this sleek option from Carlos Falchi ($175 from $350).
And if you prefer something roomier, or are simply looking for a sturdy investment bag, check out Goyard. It’s a luxury brand with a past, and their leather goods are items you can pass on to your future grandchildren.

Completely agree. I love how Michelle mixes everyday basics with items by high end designers. That clutch is very chic.
I love her style!
