New York Magazine has named the five trends they think we'll be seeing all summer long. Their picks aren't bad either: round sunglasses, bangles, studs, plaid shirts, and sparkly dresses. I'm already seeing plaid everywhere, but I'm not sure those round sunglasses will move from the celebs to the masses in time to call it a full on summer trend (maybe for 2010?).
Because we've got your back, here are the trends we think NYMag missed that you're going to need to make it through the hot months in style.
1. Maxi Dresses. More is more this summer, but don't think wearing a long, patterned maxi like this one from Juicy Couture ($195) excuses you from shaving your legs.
2. Neon. Everything old is new again, but this trend is best applied in moderation. Mattese's Explosive ($5) will make your nails pop in any decade.
3. Hats. A hat is the perfect way to turn a boring outfit like jean shorts and a grey t-shirt into something that will make heads turn. If you don't believe me, you obviously haven't checked out our latest Summer Hats Guide.
