SheFinds Solution: How To Survive Your High Heels

"You're gonna ruin your feet with those damn shoes," my mom always points out when she sees me leaving the house in a pair of three-inch pumps. Although I hate to admit it, she might actually be right. After my shower this morning, I carefully inspected my tortured tootsies: calluses I never had before, unsightly blister scars, skin rubbed raw on the back of my heels… there must be an easier way.

For those of you out there that are inflicting the same sort of abuse on yourselves, here are a few preventative measures you can take to alleviate some of the pain and discomfort:

First you'll need to heal and protect any blisters you might already have with Dr. Scholl's Blister Treatment Sterile Cushions ($24.90) They conform to your heel and other areas of the foot and are water-resistant so that they'll stay comfortably in place.

As much as I love buying new shoes, the joy almost gets taken out of it when I have to break them in and my heels get all ripped up from friction. Foot Petals Heavenly Heelz ($6.95) are great multi-functional cushions that will help prevent this problem and also keep your heels from sliding out of the shoes. We had a reader recently comment on how she has one foot that is slightly larger, and so one of her feet is always getting blisters as a result of this. These heel cushions should fix that problem. Use one in the shoe with the smaller foot and it should help with sizing.

Sometimes wedges or certain pumps give me blisters on the tops of my toes or on that side bone on my instep that juts out a little bit. Dr. Scholl's Molefoam Padding ($20) is great because you can cut it to any size you need, and it is self-adhesive like a Band-Aid so it will stick to whatever part of your foot is rubbing against the shoe.

Aside from blisters, there is also that pesky soreness problem from your weight putting all of that pressure on the balls of your feet. Insoles like these Foot Petals Killer Kushionz ($12.95) can help pad your feet a little bit and they also won't slide around on the insides of your shoes. They can even be used in open-toe sandals and flats.

Well well, to be frank, women do look sexy when wearing a high heel. It makes them be hot, and male likes girl who wearing high heels. But my girl sometimes gets hurt by wearing it. I do feel sorry about it, I hope every girl can have a healthy ankle, while enjoying their sexy high heels.

I just read in some mag how you can have really high heels cut down so they are a more manageable height.
