Finally! In episode 4 of Bravo's The Fashion Show, Isaac blew up the group format and we actually got to see what the designers can do. The mini challenge, inspired by vegan eco-brand olson Haus, had the contestants take a stock shoe mold and create their own unique designs with organic materials.

Most weren't bad, but Johnny R., who can't sew a lick, didn't need the stitching help as he created a wedge bootie that wooed guest judge Elizabeth Olsen with its mix of color and materials (buy them here, $255).

The elimination challenge took the gang to Bergdorf Goodman where they got five minutes to select any pair of “exceptional shoes” that would have to inspire their next designs. While everyone was trying to choose Jimmy Choo over YSL or Manolo, Angel was the only designer that couldn't pick one. Duh. So, Isaac gave her the red, white, and blue nautical-themed pair. Have fun with those!
Alas, she produced a white shirt dress (as expected), but
with a twist (literally) in that she sewed two shirts together with one
upside down. The audience loved it, as did I, but it wasn't enough for
the win.
Reco's caged YSL sandals, which inspired his ribboned LBD and our notice a few months ago, took home the judges' applause due to his impeccable worksmanship and detail (buy the winning look here, $199).
And after winning last week, we said au revoir to underwear designer Andrew. His beautiful feather Manolos weren't enough to jazz up a boring dress.
If you're dying to get your hands on some luxe wedges, these Diane von Furstenberg Mecca Runway Anklewrap Wedges ($280) are a gorgeous saddle brown, perfect for summer skirts, and just slightly more expensive than Johnny's design.
