Top 9 of 2009: Favorite Style Icons

This past year we’ve seen a lot of change, but that’s just the way fashion works. Style icons inspired us left and right, be it on the small screen, the red carpet, or the White House. 1. Michelle Obama

As Michelle Obama moved into our lives as First Lady, she kept her fashion guns running strong.  Mixing politics with pretty, her style never stopped looking fresh.

2. Kate Moss

From hosting the Met Gala to pulling out another hot Topshop collaboration, the fashion darling  has graced the business world with her signature supermodel style.

3. Rihanna

Her songs top the charts but her looks  are always unexpected. We love how Rihanna keeps singer style interesting with her edgy fashion taste.

4. Blake Lively

A favorite of the Gossip Girl crew, this blonde beauty’s most scene-stealing feature is her covetable tresses.

5. Cameron Diaz

Our favorite All-American actress always keeps it fresh and lovely. Her pink asymmetrical dress stole the spotlight at the Golden Globe Awards.

6. Madonna

The material girl just won’t stop–still making music, the muse to fashion houses, Madge always embodies fashion’s spirit.

7. Rachel Zoe

The celeb stylist stole our hearts on the Rachel Zoe Project.  Her peppy LA spirit and boho style keeps us on our toes, ready for the next season of fashion inspiration.

8. Kate Beckinsale

Girls want to look like her, and guys want to be with her. Esquire named the brunette babe Sexiest Woman Alive, but we have just a big of a crush on her clothes.

9. Betty Draper

Sure she may be a TV show character, but that doesn’t mean Mad Men‘s Betty Draper doesn’t make us want to update our wardrobe with a touch of ’60s-inspired chic.
