Top Five: Gifts That Give Back

Some of our favorite gifts this year give to a variety of great charities, so you don’t have to choose between presents under the tree and supporting a cause.

Over at Piperlime, they’re putting up a list each week of various celebrities’ top gift items.  For each purchase, the retailer donates 10% to the Art of Elysium. We like Brooke Shields’s pick of this slim-fit, of-the-moment Splendid plaid blouse ($162), and the fact that Art of Elysium is devoted to helping children through music and the arts.

Toms Shoes, with their great “one for one” business model, (you buy one pair of shes, they donate one) is actually charitable all year round – but how can you resist this cute pair of black glittery slip-ons ($54) for someone on your list now?

We’re partial to The Bag Ladies’ Tabitha Bag ($240), which comes in several colors and benefits TBACT (The Campaign for Bulgaria’s Abandoned Children).

HSN and DKNY Jeans joined forces to create a capsule collection for the Thanks and Giving fundraising program at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. We like the double entendre of this “believe” tee ($29).  Rolledand wrapped up, it would be a nice surprise in someone’s stocking.

Kiehl’s Creme de Corps is a classic, and this year they’ve given the mainstay a little spin by creating the limited edition “KAWS” bottle, so named for the artist who designed the new look.  One hundred percent of the profits will be donated to RxART, which helps foster art programming in pediatric hospitals.
