Top Five: Party-Appropriate Chain-Strap Bags
Big hobo bags are useful for carting around oversized water bottles and building up your back muscles, but they just don’t look quite right at a party. I love a long chain-strap on a smaller shoulder bag – it looks festive, and it’s way more practical than having to hang on to a clutch all night.
1. You can take this bag
($103) to work or to dinner, and that neutral print means that while it
looks good, it will still go with pretty much anything.
2. This MICHAEL Michael Kors bag ($228) would look great with a simple black outfit, or with jeans for daytime.
3. Think of this bag ($147) as an archive item. It’s never going to go out of style, the color matches everything, and you’ll be able to use it for years of events.
4. I own a vintage bag similar to this Rachel Nasvik version ($325), and will never get tired of its classic appeal.
5. Holding down a girly bow detail with distinct-looking hardware is such a good idea. Felix Rey’s bag ($336) is one of the coolest chain-strap bags I’ve seen yet.
