When It Comes To Beauty, You Should (Literally) Get What You Pay For

If you’re like me, you have a few favorite cosmetics that even the recession hasn’t forced you to sacrifice. But now that dollars are dearer than ever, getting the last drop of that oh-so-luxurious and kinda expensive lotion is more important. In Consumer Reports’ September issue, they estimate that about 25% of products are tossed in the trash after people think that tubes, bottles, and jars are all up.
Here’s some advice for getting it all:
1. To start, tipping large-mouthed shampoo and lotion bottles upside down is easy enough.
2. You can either mix the last nubbin of your favorite lipstick with Vaseline to create a moisturizing gloss, or smush it into an eye shadow pot to apply with a brush.
3. Cutting off the ends of foundation containers can be tough, but getting a make up sponge in there may give you an extra week of make up. You can also crush the left over corner of pressed powder for use like loose powder.
Those are a few of our tips for keeping money from going down the drain, but we’re sure there are more. How do you get the most out of your beauty products?
