Your Lips Are Still Chapped, We Know They Are
It was 60 degrees in New York yesterday, but for some reason my lips are more chapped than ever. We have a feeling many of you are in the same boat, so we took a bunch of our favorite balms onto Better.tv to let you know what will remedy your cracking lips – check them out below and in our Lip Balm Guide .
Most balms are scented, but we’re particularly crazy about these three: Weleda Everon Lip Balm ($4.49) has vanilla and rose extracts, which combine to give it a subtle, pretty scent different from most we’ve tried. Exuviance Multi-Protctive Lip Balm ($8) has a light mint scent (plus SPF 15!) and Tinte Cosmetics Lip Colors ($14) come in a seven fun, retro varieties including cream soda, bubble gum and root beer.
Since it’s on your lips and you wind up basically eating your balm eventually, we came up with a few eco and natural options. Softlips PURE ($18 for 6) is USDA certified organic, and readily available at lots of drugstores. A more indulgent balm, LAVANILA Pure Vanilla Healthy Lip Butter ($16) is a creamy blend of butters, including shea and cocoa. Korres Lip Butter ($9) also contains shea butter, plus a slight tint – and it’s free of parabens and sulfates to boot.
If your lips seem beyond repair, let these ultra-rich formulas come to the rescue. Ren Biomimetic Lip Honey ($19) contains omega 3 and 6 oils to nourish and protect; Snog lip balm ($2.50) is made to penetrate dry lips instead of just sitting on top. AMOREPACIFIC Moisture Bound Lip Treatment ($35) uses bamboo sap for an extra jolt of moisture, and can hydrate for up to eight hours.
