Katie Holmes is slated to play Jackie Kennedy in the History Channel’s miniseries, The Kennedys (opposite Greg Kinnear, as JFK) in 2011 – and we’re guessing that her Jackie O-like wardrobe didn’t hurt in landing the part. We’ve outlined the 4 Jackie O. basics that Katie encompasses, helping her nab the role:
1. A Classic Trench
The khaki trench was a classic Spring piece in Jackie’s day and is still going strong now. If you can’t justify splurging on a Burberry trench, try this Calvin Klein Belted Trench Coat ($128). It looks almost exactly the same – at a tenth of the price.
2. Oversize Lucite Sunglasses
Forever 21’s F0763 Sunglasses ($5.80) are a cheap way to get your Jackie O. fix – the shape of the lens and clear frame look like her originals.
3. Preppy Sheath Dress
Another classic trend – throw on a pretty sheath like Jones New York Collection Matka Silk Sheath Dress ($149) and you’re instantly Jackie-fied.
4. Tot Accessory… Just Kidding (Sort of).
