Alexander Wang Expands So You Can Afford More Than Just A T-Shirt

It-designer Alexander Wang is a celeb and fashion editor favorite–and for good reason. Now, WWD reports Wang is expanding his T diffusion line this fall to include even more affordable pieces, so you don’t have to splurge just to get a piece of a fashion legend.

Case in point: Kate Hudson’s Alexander Wang teal dress (at left)  might run you over $1,000,  Rachel Zoe’s black jersey t-shirt dress — from the designer’s more affordable T by Alexander Wang line–seen at left– is closer to $100, and looks just as cool.

While the two preview photos of his upcoming expanded fall collection below might not look that exciting, let’s face it, a good black blazer and white t-shirt are true wardrobe workhorses.

In the meantime, we’ve found three better-than-basic t-shirts that you can buy now:

This T by Alexander Wang Cap Sleeve Tee ($30.99, down from $78) is a major deal. The t-shirt is thin, making it good for layering, and the modal fabrication gives the tee some weight, meaning it will glide nicely on your body and not cling to lumps and bumps.

Gap’s Favorite T line is one of my go-tos, and it’s extremely affordable. This Gap Favorite long-sleeved T ($12.50, down from $16.50) is 100% cotton, but it doesn’t feel like a Hanes undershirt. The t-shirt is sleek, and you can wear it under a blazer for work, or with jeans on the weekend.

James Perse is a Los Angeles based brand known for soft, vintage feeling t-shirts that last forever. The smoky grey color on this James Perse Fitted Scoop Neck Tee ($55) is versatile, and the scoop neckline works for all body types.

Check out Rachel Bilson and Rihanna wearing the same pair of jeans different ways and find out which Gap jeans Eva Longoria and Kate Beckinsale both bought. Then check out where you can buy the best celebrity scarves and celebrity sunglasses.
