Alice Temperley’s Diffusion Line Of Tiger Prints And Polka Dots: Confusing, Still Expensive

Today London designer Alice Temperley launched her diffusion line, Alice by Temperley, and while we love getting designer looks for less, we feel like there’s something off here. Maybe we just expect a lot out of our diffusion lines–we know they’re made with cheaper materials, but we were hoping for something a little more inventive. The pieces available at Net-A-Porter range from $204 shorts to $596 for an anorak. We’ll opt for The Limited’s new collaboration with Jodi Arnold instead. What do you think?

Alice by Temperley polka dot dress ($425) and polka dot pencil skirt ($305) are definitely cute, but a little overpriced for something you can’t really wear over and over–everyone will remember the polka dot dress.

This short-sleeved striped dress ($335) and maxi dress ($360) is made of jersey, and though we love the colors, we wonder if we’d wear it enough to make it worth the money.

Alice by Temperley tiger jumpsuit ($405) and tiger print dress ($325) aren’t exactly pieces to be worn for longer than a season. Though the fabric may hold up, the print’s popularity probably won’t.

We admit this denim military jacket is inventive, and the anorak is on-trend.
