Beauty Roadtest: Revamp Your Makeup Bag In One Step At Smashbox

We all take the time to match our nail polish to the season (hello, OPI Over the Taupe, goodbye, Lincoln Park After Dark), but what about the rest of our cosmetics? Craving a makeup makeover, I tried Smashbox’s Glambox Beauty in Bloom Kit ($68, a $195 value), a 5-piece set featuring new Spring shades for lips, eyes and cheeks. The kit covers all the bases: a satin-matte lip color, an enhancing lip gloss, a 9-color eye palette, a bronzing cheek blush, a fan-shaped brush and the perfect black mascara. I liked that the lip colors weren’t too pink or bright – they both contain shades of beige, which makes them versatile for day or night. The fan brush was also a great addition to my tool collection – I didn’t have one in that shape. Use it to apply blush in a swirling motion on the apples of cheeks, which creates a playful pop of color. I love ShadowBox eye shadows and the palette in this kit contains some of their best, including the “Megapixel” brown/purple/blush trio. Overall, I was happy to save so much time and money on this one-stop package.
