I usually like the links that you post on here, but I don’t understand why there’s a new article about the Forever 21 sweatshops. Did something new happen? I worked there 2 years ago, and this was old news then! I’m not trying to defend them, but I don’t know why there was a new article and new attention drawn to the documentary.

Hey Kristen – I’ve heard about that stuff before, too. I think it’s being brought up again because a popular fashion blog ran a long story about why they hate F21 and it stirred up enough controversy to spread across the web. And I posted it here because readers emailed me about it, and I think it’s important people be aware of what they’re supporting with their dollars.

I read about that “Blonde Warrior” piece somewhere a little bit earlier and the Dr. cited in the paper is stating on his website that the article is incorrect. Above his response are some links with the results of the study – one titled “Hot Blonde Women No More Entitled Than Other Hot Women”. Essentially, the study was conducted about anger -” What he did find, in this research on anger, was that women who view themselves as pretty, and stronger men, tend to be more entitled”. So… I’m guessing the any lady with some nice symmetry is a “Warrior Princess” inside?
Regardless, interesting thought about blonde hair being more attention grabbing because I know shiny platinum hair always send jealous quakes through my red strands (and I know if I ever go blonde I’ll look like a ghost).

Thanks for posting that about Forever 21. Even if it’s been mentioned before else, it doesn’t reach most consumers. It’s important for shoppers to know what kind of practices they are supporting with their cash, and sometimes a reminder is needed.
