This is the good news about the seemingly illogical timeline for Fashion Week: You can pick up next year’s trends on sale right now, if you know what to look for. Here’s our rundown of our top four for next fall, and they’re all on sale now.

Military

Military-inspired outerwear will be big next fall. To buy the style now, look for details like big patch pockets, camo-green color, zippers, and standup or funnel-neck collars. Lauren by Ralph Lauren’s Military Cardigan ($71.60, down from $179) hints at the trend without going overboard – a surefire sign you can wear it for more than one season.

Studded footwear

We expect copies of Fashion Week’s super-embellished runway shoes to fly off department stores shelves next year. For a work-appropriate version, scoop up one of the toned-down versions designers are already producing, like these Boutique 9 D’Orsay pumps ($105, down from $160).

Camel coats

Snagging next year’s winter coat at the end of this season is a real fashion coup: Coats tend to be expensive, but not so trendy that a year-old design will go out of style. We saw a ton of prim camel coats on the runways – this Zip Front Rib Collar coat from Asos ($94.02)  gets the look.

Velvet
