With 10 days to go until the Oscars, Precious star and best actress nominee Gabourey Sidibe had to fend off designers clamoring to dress her. We wonder if they’ve seen Italy’s Vogue Curvy. According to her stylist in US Weekly, a bevy of big name designers came knocking, and in the end, Marchesa won out. (Which is interesting, considering the brand is known  for dressing skinny minnies like Anne Hathaway and Miley Cyrus). It’s good to know that designers are embracing a body type that doesn’t fit the Hollywood mold, but curvier gals have long been doing the red carpet right.
