Kell On Earth: A Field Guide To Kelly Cutrone’s Recessionista Fashion Week

In this week’s episode of Bravo’s Kell On Earth, the recession hits the fashion world.  But during New York Fashion Week, the show must go on anyway.  Never one to turn down a challenge, Kelly takes on shows for an avant-garde designer Nicolas Petrou, and luxury lingerie brand Agent Provocateur.  Both shows must be produced on a strict budget and in a limited amount of time.  As per usual, Kelly’s wisdom is dead on as she teaches us how to make it work even in these tough economic times.

The Agent Provocateur fashion show had us drooling with envy over the brand’s beautifully crafted lingerie.  The price of this luxe line, however had our jaws dropping to the floor.  Luckily there are some great sales on post-Valentine’s Day lingerie right now.  We’ve found some ways to get the Agent Provocateur look without that not so sexy large price tag.

1. “There’s no rest for the wicked.”- When work gets tough,  Kelly’s bad-ass, gung-ho work ethic is the key to her success.
2. “I’m not pretty pretty.”- Kelly admits she loves avant garde and agrees to represent kooky and unknown menswear designer Nicolas Petrou.
3. “Whack-a-doo”- one of Kelly’s favorite phrases that helps lighten the mood when things at work get too stressful.  For example, when Kelly and her daughter Ava coincidently run into the new owners of the dog they gave up for adoption, well, that was pretty whack-a-doo.
