Online Sample Sale Site Gilt Fuse Is Dead

Though it’s less than a year old, Gilt‘s less expensive separate sister site, Gilt Fuse, is now gone. Created in August 2009, with prices of up to $150, was supposed to make Gilt seem more well-rounded: if you couldn’t afford a $2,000 Judith Leiber bag, at least you could get a pair of Bensimon sneakers or a Michael Stars tee.

Gilt rep Jyothi Rao says the same sales will continue, on Gilt’s page, but the change will “create a single destination to shop women’s apparel and accessories.” Gilt says members asked for a simpler and faster way to shop all of the women’s brands.

So many sales, so little time. Maybe it  had something to do with the debut of their new city deals site we love, Gilt City, with restaurant and salon discounts, and the cool luxe travel site, Jetsetter. Have you checked them out yet?
