The iPod App That Picks Your Fragrance For You (Without Spritzing)

Perfume spritzing ladies in department stores could find themselves out of a job soon. And thank goodness–I  get headaches just from walking by the beauty counters. Now, there’s an app for that. The Apple iPod Touch app , Ascent,  asks shoppers a series of questions, and then presents them with scent suggestions that fit their answers.

According to WWD, Ascent, developed by Estee Lauder’s Aramis and Designer Fragrances division, will be available at Nordstrom’s beauty counters starting May 28 (the weekend of their Half Yearly sale). Although the app only suggests fragrances owned by Aramis, we’re sure that other perfume companies will jump on ship eventually.
