First, some bad news:

Hope, cross your fingers… do whatever it takes to help stop the horrible return of fanny packs! We know of so many beautiful handbags. Why torture us? [Telegraph]

And here’s hoping the insane armless ponchos that are cruising the runways don’t wind up the next trend in fashion, either.  [World of Wonder]

Bravo, H&M! You screw up again by lying to customers about your so-called “eco-friendly” fashion that is apparently neither organic, nor sustainable. Check out these truly eco-friendly beauty and fashion finds instead. [Fashionista]

Now, some good news:

Be thankful if you buy non-leather purses, accessories, or wallets from just about any mainstream retailer; a landmark settlement was made between a consumer watchdog group and companies H&M and NY & Company that will now put restrictions on the levels of acceptable lead in handbags. In case you missed it, tests on handbags showed massive amounts of the toxins in your favorite bags. [WWD]

The FDA finally steps in to regulate tanning beds. The proposed “Tanning Bed Cancer Control Act” would limit UV-ray strength, exposure time, and minimum age requirements for all tanning bed users. Hear, hear! How about just switching over to the totally safe and practical sunless tanning lotions? Works for us. [Stylelist]
