Fashion’s Heavy Hitters Set Out To Prove Green Can Be Chic With Runway To Green Show
Fashion week is coming the first week of February, but this year it will be followed closely by an initiative to set the record straight about eco-friendly fashion. The fundraiser, Runway to Green, will take place at Christies’s auction house in New York during their Save the Earth event March 29th [WWD]. Net-a-porter will be the only carrier of the exclusive pieces by heavy hitters Prada, Balenciaga, Burberry, Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg and Marc Jacobs. The pieces will be available directly after the show on Net-a-Porter’s site, and will feature special tags wholesaled among their fall collections.
A portion of every wholesale sale will benefit Runway to Green, which, in turn, is earmarking those funds for several environmental organizations.
