Lace Has Its Place For Fall... And That's Pretty Much Everywhere
July 23, 2012
This year’s spring and summer trends included everything ladylike and girly. From pastels to florals to lace to pastel-and-floral lace. Come fall, the feminine fabric remains to be a favorite among designers, but taking a dramatic turn for the colder season. Erdem covered their usually floral-adorned midi dresses with a neon-clad lace, while Jen Kao chose to dip-dye the material—taking the ombre-effect to another level. Lanvin and Anna Sui kept their lace black and brooding, while Nanette Lapore transformed it into a collared blouse (rather than the usual dress) and splashed it in a bright yellow hue. While lace was like an everyday second-skin for fashionistas this spring, expect to only flaunt this fabric during the evening for fall.
