As new details emerge about Natalie Portman‘s private wedding to Benjamin Millepied in Big Sur this weekend, so do the first photos of the actress in her designer wedding dress. The Black Swan actress wore a traditional, full-coverage Rodarte dress — the same sister design duo who created costumes for the movie, and her purple Oscar gown. Natalie wore a white A-line, tea-length dress with a sheer overlay that covered her chest and arms for the traditional Jewish ceremony. She also wore nude ballet flats, a fingertip-length veil and a floral wreath. The groom, a professional dancer and choreographer, wore a wore a midnight blue tux.
The entire event was reflective of the couple’s personal tastes and faith; the menu was strictly vegan in keeping with Natalie’s diet (remember her Top Chef episode?!), and in lieu of a wedding cake, they served French macarons — a nod to the groom’s nationality. Instead of flying flowers in, they used local wildflowers, and the reception and ceremony featured traditional Jewish rituals, like smashing a glass and dancing the hora. Guests, including Ivanka Trump and Macaulay Culkin, hoisted the groom up on a chair and danced the night away to a Klezmer band. When the party ended around 2am, guests took home a favor of wildflower seed packets, inscribed with the word “Merci!”
