Topshop's On-Trend Style Lands At Nordstrom: Shop The Limited-Edition Styles
September 10, 2012
Topshop may only have three stand-alone brick-and-mortars in the U.S., but today, they’re seriously beefing up their presence by infiltrating 14 Nordstrom stores this month. No complaints here!
Looking to appeal to a younger shopper, the conservative department store has foregone the recent market trend of one-off designer fast-fashion collaborations in exchange for a full blown shop-in-shop — Nordstrom will now serve as home to both Topshop and the store’s male counterpart, Topman. We couldn’t be more excited about bringing a bit of runway-inspired rock and roll to Nordstrom, which — let’s face it — was beginning to feel a bit desolate.
“Fast fashion implies cheap, and that’s not what we’re after,” Pete E. Nordstrom, president of merchandising for his namesake retailer, told the Times last week. “It wasn’t about how we sell a bunch of really cheap T-shirts. It’s about how we deliver credible new fashion to the customer.”
Amen to that! With exclusive limited-edition Topshop items created specially for Nordstrom, the new line spans everything from tops to accessories and even dabbles in maternity wear. The clothes will be sold at prices typical for both retailers ($36 for an on-trend peplum top and a faux leather jacket with a removable fur collar is going for $116, though some prices head up between $200 and $370, mostly for outerwear), so you’d better get shopping now — the on-trend fall offerings are soon to go fast.
