9 Things We Can't Wait To See At The 2015 Golden Globes
January 9, 2015
It’s the start of awards season ya’ll! We can’t think of a better way to kick things off than with the Golden Globes, taking place this Sunday, January 11th at 8pm EST on NBC. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are going for a three-peat with hosting duties, Kristen Wiig is presenting and McConaughey will be there. Does an award show need anything else?. Oh, and did we mention this is the show where all the celebs get drunk? Yep, it will definitely be an interesting night. Here are 9 things to look out for at the 72nd annual Golden Globes:
1) Kristen Wiig presenting
Because this is what happened last time:
2) Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s “fresh” hosting strategy
The ladies released a promo in which they claim to have nothing new planned for their third round of hosting the Globes, but we know this can’t possibly be true. We’ve already seen Amy snuggle up on George Clooney’s lap, Tina Fey diss T.Swift and Randy. So the pressure is on to bring the laughs, but if anyone can do it three years in a row, it’s these two.
3) Emma Stone’s shenanigans
J.Law had her few years as the token millennial at every award show, but now it’s Emma Stone‘s turn. Look out for her crazy facial expressions and hopefully a lip sync bit (preferably with Amy and Tina OR her BF Andrew Garfield).
4) Whatever Amal Clooney wears
We wouldn’t peg Amal as the type to show up to every.single.event. with her hubby, but she has a very good reason to attend the Globes. George Clooney is receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award, which is the most prestigious of the night–it honors all his career achievements. So yeah, we don’t think Amal is missing this one.
Lorde4Pres! JK, but we seriously love this super talented 18-year-old. She’s up for Best Original Song for “Yellow Flicker Beat” from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. Did you know she curated the entire soundtrack for the film. Like we said, super talented.
6) The Orange is the New Black Cast having the most fun
I mean, did you see these guys at the Emmys?? They seriously looked like kids going to Disney for the first time. This is just the best crew.
7) The Moet cocktails
The show will have two signature cocktails this year created by model and foodie Elettra Wiedmann. Both feature the show’s official champagne, Moët & Chandon. There’s the citrus-y Moët Sunset Starlet and dry Moët Bijou Rouge. You can find recipes for both here and get schwasted along with the stars.
8) Julia Louis-Dreyfus smiling
According to one Golden Globes promo, Amy Poehler plans to have Julia Louis-Dreyfus crack a smile by the end of the night. Let’s see if that happens.
This guy is STILL up for awards (Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV movie for True Detective) and we don’t hate it. We can never get tired of hearing him say “Alright, alright, alright.”
