A Find: Gehry Shines at Tiffany
August 22, 2006
“That is so stupid-looking; it’s great!†It’s one of my favorite movie quotes (and a phrase I’ve worked into a number of conversations). It just reminds me how snarky-but-stylish architect Frank Gehry is. Check out the modern, angular line of rings, bracelets, pendants and earrings he’s designed for Tiffany. The jewelry, like his buildings, reflects his design wit and attention to structure and unexpected lines. The Orchid double-drop pendant in sterling silver ($225) is curvy and clean and rests in the most flattering part of a woman’s décolletage. The chunky brown agate Torque ring ($450) is a bit of a departure from Gehry’s shiny-silver style. It’s a stand-alone piece that complements almost anything. Oh, and the Torque pendant with diamonds ($2,350) is the best way to experience Gehry, short of booking tix to Spain or Prague to see his masterpieces. Get yours at Tiffany.com.
