Even Keel's Glam Guru Pant

Even Keel's Glam Guru Pant

For those of you who want to detox your way to a healthier body through a series of vinyasa flows and downward-facing dogs, we recommend an exciting new company for clothing: Even Keel. Even Keel's Glam Guru Pant are the most unique yoga pants we've seen to date. Their pleating not only hides unwanted curves but also makes for a look that works well outside the studio.

For a steady standby in all things yoga, go Gaiam. Their standard Yoga Pant and Cami Bra Top offer the ultimate in comfort for the yoga studio.

And, for a more affordable and versatile approach, try out Champion's amazing Powerlite Seamless Empire Tech Tank. Not only will its cut hide your burgeoning belly, but it's honestly one of the most versatile and comfortable tanks we've ever tried. In anything from yoga to a gentle run, you'll look great.

But what's yoga without a little humor? Check out Plank Designs' hilarious series of mats that read "Bling," "Chocolate," and "Me." Because, let's face it—some of us are in it for the workout, and not the spiritual transcendence.

Recommending running shoes is seriously tricky business, especially online. The problem is few-fold: Firstly, every woman's foot and running style was not created equal. Secondly, every model of shoe is not consistent from year to year. To combat this problem, we consulted New York's Jack Rabbit Sports for advice, and here is what owner Lee Silverman told us.

The first step is finding a good sock. We recommend the anti-bacterial, supreme wicking power of Eurosock, which offers separate models for running and cycling. Jack Rabbit also gives their seal of approval to South African sock-makers Balega. The wicking technology in these socks moves moisture up to the ankle, where it can be evaporated and annihilated as a blister-making threat to your precious feet.

Next, get thee to a store and have a gait analysis done (where you run in front of a camera). From there, you will find out which of three types of shoes suit you: Netural, Stability, or Motion Control. "Many people buy shoes online," added Silverman. "But you really have to be careful. Not only because you can end up hurting your joints, but also because manufacturers are terrible about communicating the compatibilities between you and your shoe, not to mention that each model can change from year to year."

So, while we can't recommend shoes you should buy (as SheFinds would never want to be responsible for injured joints and tendons) we can make a recommendation for each type of shoe.

  • .: Neutral (low-support for those of us with strong feet and ankles):
  • .: Stability (a little more support, often with white, filled arches in the shoes):
    • :. Saucony Pro Grid Paramount. An interesting hybrid between Neutral and Stability, the shoe also offers a technology that keeps your foot temperature stable. That means cozy feet in winter and dry feet in summer.
  • .: Motion Control (for those of us who overpronate and are need of the most technology):
    • :. Brooks reigns in the motion control shoe, and their Trance 7 is no exception. Generally speaking, this breed of shoe has a heavily built up sole that reduces pronation (an over-rotation of the foot that leads to knock-knees).

Craft Pro Zero Extreme Baselayer Top & Bottom

What better a place to battle your bulge (by foot or by cycle) than in the great outdoors? Thanks to global warming, you're going to need a little protection no matter where you live in the country, so plan your base, mid-, and outer-layers accordingly.

The king of the base layer is Craft's Pro Baselayer. Described by the pros as "feeling like a hug," its long cut, high neck, and ribbed fabric makes for a flattering fit that balances utility and fashion to perfection. If you need more warmth, mid-layers provide added insulation and wicking.

Check out Sugoi's Speedster, which not only includes thumb holes to keep your sleeves in place, but also features an opening for your pony tail. Another great mid-layer is Cloudveil's Run Don't Walk Hoodie.

For those of you facing tougher conditions, opt for Brooks Element Jacket, replete with silver lining (sliver is both anti-bacterial and conducts heat efficiently), a breathable, water-resistant lining, and an iPod hookup. For everybody else, go Gore-Tex. The patented fabric is also a line of stellar outergear that will keep you dry

As for your legs, plan according to the weather and sport. Cyclists should stick to snugger fits--absolutely no flare in the ankle. Runners can sport a bit of a bootcut, but make sure you don't trip over your own pant legs.
