For those with extra-curly hair that tends to frizz up when dry, styling can seem like an uphill battle. I've found two products that make wash & go an almost-possibility. 
Girls with thick and/or coarse curly hair, one of my Proclaim Curl & Wave Conditioning Gel. This product is very versatile. Apply it light if you only need a little bit of control and a lot of body; apply it heavy for curls that stay in thick ringlets and don't need any extra body thankyouverymuch. It won't flake and has never dried out my prone-to-dryness hair. This product is made exclusively for Sally's Beauty Supply and is, apparently, a favorite among African-American hair stylists. If you have lighter-weight curly hair, then Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Mousse is probably for you. It stays light on your hair and dries quickly, so you won't spend too much time out in the cold with wet hair. I have thick, heavy hair and I still got tolerable results using this product. Both products are under $5. The Proclaim gel can only be found at Sally's Beauty Supply, and you can find the Garnier mousse at CVS.com.
