What: Mario Russo Double-Strength Gel

Why: When I was a little girl I used to envy friends who could pull their hair back in a ponytail and have a smooth head from front to back.  Even when I had relaxed hair there would be a few (or a hoarde of) curly flyaways on top of my head making my hairline look messy.  Now that I’m a natural curly girl I rarely wear my hair pulled back, but sometimes I would like to.  And I still want a smooth head when I do.  The only way to achieve this is via a really good gel.  Many gels will hold, but most will dry your hair out, or make it feel icky and hard.  Not Mario Russo’s Double Strength Gel.  I love that when I apply it to wet hair and let it dry, I can maintain that ‘wet hair’ look for at least two days.  And the hold will last up to four.
