Say What? Do You Know What A Tregging Is?

Lately, the fashion powers-that-be are starting to hint that unfortunately, the leggings ship has sailed. Lucky for us, though, the ultra-fashionistas do at least understand we'll need some time to mourn the passing of this beloved trend. And so, “treggings” were born.

These trousers + leggings sort of kill two birds with one stone. They are as comfortable as leggings and from afar, can be mistaken for skinny jeans. But there’s a catch: you wear them on their own. There is no little cover up for your butt and thighs, it is just you, out there on your own, in stretchy pants. Hmm…

They're showing up mostly in leather and velvet, worn with everything from over-the-knee boots to delicate ballet flats.

I think I'll stick to black tights for now, but for all you brave ones, here are a couple tregging-ish styles:

If even the Alice & Olivia model looks fat in them what hope is there for the rest of us. These are totally a pass.

Geez! Why don't we just put some stirrups on 'em and start singing songs from Pretty in Pink? Of course in the 80s, we had boxy jackets and sweaters to cover the scary parts. This is soooo not new.

the Alice & Olivia model looks fat because the style of the leggings and the photo angle make you see the hips and tummy differently...an optical illusion for the body shot model photo; the last photo seems a cross between an optical illusion of slender and fat...doesn't anyone know that a trim body with tight fitting clothes looks more pleasing than a belly sticking out? Bleh!

omg i love leggings theyre my cold weather hero!!! every day hot weather gets unexpectedly cold in ireland i just put on leggings !!!

I love these; especially that Paige pair shown above. And, I don't see a fat model. Am I missing something??
