With the recent rash of DUI convictions, drug carrying and other lawless silliness, Hollywood’s starlets are showing a new side of their well-publicized wardrobes: courtroom chic. With Lindsay Lohan heading to court this month, we do a quick analysis of the clothes her fellow lawbreaking babes wore to avoid the ire of the Los Angeles County Justice Department.

Nicole Ritchie truly stunned all of us in this Holly-Golightly turn in a Moschino trapeze dress ($850 @ Netaporter.com) and oversized dark sunglasses. She only got four days in the pokey for her crimes. 

Paris Hilton arrived at her sentencing looking smarter than she did when she started (she reported arrived at the proceedings earlier in her sweats.) Her outfit was smart, conservative and contrite—in other words, very not Paris. We love the shrunken gray blazer over the crisp white shirt that breaks up the all black vest and trousers. She did serve her time in county lock-up… coincidentally, in the cell that her BFF Nicole is rumored will occupy.

Last year, Naomi Campbell showed up for court looking fabulous in a shift dress and oversized sunglasses. She wound up doing five days of community service for beating her assistant with a Blackberry.

Our personal favorite, Winona Ryder, showed up for court to answer for shoplifting charges in the very designer she was accused of stealing, Marc Jacobs.
