The pencil skirt, the emblem of the high-powered career woman – as little girls, we dreamed of wearing one while strutting into our offices in commanding six inch designer heels, with stylish laptop bag in tow. Now as adults, we know that those six inch pumps are deadly during the daily commute and that carrying a briefcase means you had lots of take-home work to get done the night before.
