Cara Delevingne Is Designing A Collection With DKNY, Beanies Definitely Included
June 10, 2014
Since we obvi follow Cara Delevingne on Instagram, we noticed some shady biz going on yesterday. The 21-year-old model posted a photo with her name next to the DKNY logo and the cryptic caption, “Get Ready!!! It’s Coming…. #Cara4DKNY @donnakarandkny #AHHHHHH.” Now, we know Cara’s worked with the brand for years, so we weren’t sure if this was just her starring in another campaign or something bigger. Turns out, the Brit “it” girl is collaborating on a capsule collection, called Cara Delevingne for DKNY, set to hit stores this November.
According to WWD, the project has been in the works for a year. The 15-piece line is inspired by Cara’s cool urban-girl uniform, including skinny jeans, crop tops, colorful sneakers, oh and of course, knitted beanies (the chick practically single-handedly started that trend). Many of the model’s go-to looks are also part of the range, from a sweats suit, to leather bomber jackets, tanks tops and a parka. Most items are unisex and prices will range from $70 for a beanie and $150 for t-shirts, to $735 for a leather moto jacket with removable sleeves.
Since this IS Cara Delevingne we’re talking about, the girl with 5.5 million Instagram followers, there’s also a social media component to the launch. The model will star in the campaign and is looking to cast two to three more people, one of which can be you. She asked her followers last night, who are 18 or older, to upload a photo of themselves with hashtags #CaraWantsYour and #Cara4DKNY by monday. Get more deets on how to win straight from the source.
