The rehearsal dinner is the kickoff to your wedding weekend, so you want things to start off smoothly and stress-free. There are also a few important items you need to check off your to-list, so make sure you don’t forget them.

Hand out gifts.

The rehearsal is the perfect time to give your bridal party gifts for being a part of your day, as well as any presents for your parents, readers, officiant and such. Don’t try to hand all of these items out on the morning off--it will be too hectic and you don’t need to add another thing to your to-do list.

Give the best man the rings.

Hand over the wedding bands to the best man so he will already have them for the ceremony. You don’t want to risk forgetting them back at the house or the hotel room--and only realizing it once you’ve reached the venue.

Include out of town guests.

Etiquette says you should invite any out-of-town guests to the rehearsal dinner, assuming they will be in town the night before. They will surely appreciate being included.

Make introductions.

The rehearsal is the perfect opportunity to introduce family and friends who haven’t had the chance to meet so everyone is comfortable with one another at the wedding.

Thank every and make last minute announcements.

You and your groom should stand up and say a few words, thanking your bridal party, parents and any other guests for being with you as you start your wedding festivities.

If you need to remind your bridal party about hair/makeup appointments, photo call times and the like, the rehearsal dinner is a good time to make everyone aware of where they need to be and when for the big day.

Wrap it up early.

This is a night where you definitely want to turn in early. Make sure the dinner is done no later than 10pm, especially if you need to wake up early the next day to start your hair and makeup.
