Seafood is really tricky: all of the options can get a little fishy (sorry, had to) in the health department. Many seafood options are great for your body, but choosing the wrong ones too many times can cause an overflow of bad fats and can even lead to mercury poisoning!

The good part about having seafood in your diet regularly is that it can actually help you lose weight. Of course, that's if you choose the right kind of seafood to eat and aren't dousing it in sauce, salt and butter.

Many people only go for lean fish as a healthy seafood option, but there's so much more out there that will help you lose weight! Instead of eating the same tasteless fish, try going for this yummy and healthy seafood option.

scallops

Scallops are an amazing seafood choice for dieting! They've had a terrible reputation due to the amount of sauce and butter they're served with at restaurants, but when made right, they're a great choice that can actually help you slim down. They're high in protein, low in calories, and a study published the by Journal of Food Science showed that scallops actually contain anti-obesity effects.

Scallops don't just help with weight loss, they're also extremely helpful with cholesterol! Another study showed that scallops lower blood cholesterol, so eat up! Just make sure you're not overflowing them in sauce, since many sauces contain crazy amounts of fat, salt, and oil. Remember, a pinch of salt can go a long way!
