It's no secret that planning a wedding can be stressful, especially if you're the maid of honor. This coveted role comes with thousands of responsibilities and tasks that have to run smoothly, or else you may have a bridezilla to worry about. Planning ahead is something that all successful maids of honor do, because it keeps them organized and on top of everything that needs to be done. But, even the best maid of honor can make a mistake. Hopefully, it's not one that can't be fixed before the wedding. We complied a list of common mistakes the maid of honor makes the night before the wedding, so you can update your wedding checklist and give your bride the best wedding ever!

Make A Checklist And Wedding Timeline

As the maid of honor, you have to be on top of everything. Make a checklist of everything you need to have -- and also what everyone else needs to have -- to avoid any wedding day disasters. Also, it's smart to make a timeline of your wedding activities and events. This way, you know where everyone has to be and by what time.

Also, keep a list of all the vendors and family members phone numbers so you're ready to handle any crises that may arise.

Pack An Emergency Kit

Anything can happen right? So its best to be prepared. Fill your emergency kit with compact scissors, a phone charger, Band-Aids, fashion tape, tissues, and anything else that you may think you'll need to keep the day running smoothly.

Also, bring a notepad and a pen with you so you can keep track of all the gifts!

snacks

Bring Snacks

Between getting ready, having pictures taken, and travel time, you're going to be out and about for a while before the ceremony. Make sure you have some snacks to satisfy your hunger and give you the energy boost you need to be the best maid of honor. Also, bonus points if you bring snacks for everyone else.

dresses

Forgetting Your Dress

You've spent so much time trying to fit into your dress and making sure it's altered properly, so make sure you remember to hang it up and actually bring it with you the day of the wedding. You'll have a lot on your mind, but make sure your dress is there, too.

Also, don't forget a copy of your speech for when you're making your toast!

jewelry

Forgetting Your Accessories

That being said, don't forget your accessories either! Put them in a little baggy in your purse so you don't leave the house without them!

Um, and don't forget the most important piece of jewelry: the groom's ring! Keep it safe and secure so there aren't any problems at the altar.

shoes

Breaking In Your Shoes

This isn't necessarily for the greater good of the wedding, but rather for your own personal benefit. Make sure you've broken in your shoes and that they're going to be comfortable. Remember: you're going to do a lot of standing, walking, and dancing... You could also bring a pair of comfy shoes to change into if your feet need some relief.

makeup

Not Having Your Look Prepared

If you're getting your hair and makeup done before the wedding, make sure you have photos ready to show your hair stylist and makeup artist for inspiration. This way, there are no surprises when she unveils your look. Also, make sure you have makeup with you, the bride, and the bridesmaids for any touchups throughout the day.
