Dining out is always a good idea, especially if it means you don't have to cook for yourself! And it always feels like a special occasion if you're getting together with friends and family. That's why so many people love going out for brunch -- and, well, there's always a bottomless drink special involved too. But, there's one meal that you should avoid the next time you go out to brunch. Trust us, on this one!

While most restaurants have varying brunch menus, you can usually always find Eggs Benedict at whichever place you picked. This dish has become a brunch staple for its deliciousness and the yummy hollandaise sauce it comes with. But next time, you're going to want to put that sauce on the side, because it's filled with bacteria?!

This is very unsettling news. But we're not making this up; it came from chef Anthony Bourdain! The famous chef says that chefs often use brunch as a way to serve leftover bits from the previous night's dinner services, and usually the hollandaise sauce is the one that suffers.

"Bacteria love hollandaise," he revealed in his book, Kitchen Confidential. "And nobody I know has ever made hollandaise to order. Any place that makes hollandaise should throw it out about every hour and make a fresh batch, otherwise it can hurt you." Yikes!

He also had a pretty good tip about the bread basket, too. The chef warns that restaurants are probably serving you recycled bread that went uneaten. "If a busboy sees a basket of untouched bread, he'll probably bring it back to the kitchen to serve again later," he said. Wow, good to know!
