After searching long and hard, you've finally said 'yes' to the wedding dress of your dreams. White wedding dresses always make for beautiful brides, but they present a dangerously high risk for showing stains or marks. Go To The Bathroom Alone

You're a gaint walking piece of white tule and fabric, so going to the bathroom in your wedding dress presents a challenge. Before the wedding, designate one of your closet friends to be your 'bathroom buddy' for the day. This lucky lady gets to hold your hem while you do your business. We can't think of many things worse than toilet water to stain your wedding dress, so abide by the bathroom buddy rule religiously.

Drink Red Wine

There's a reason champagne is the go-to drink of brides everywhere—it's clear, and stains won't be as visible if you spill on your dress. As much as you love red wine, pick a drink with a more forgiving color to calm your nerves on your wedding day. Keep your alcohol intake to a minimum, anyway, to prevent spillage and make sure you aren't a belligerent bride.

Apply Makeup

It's absolutely crucial that you apply makeup before putting your wedding dress on. Wear a button down or tank top that you can easily slide off while you get your makeup done, and don't even think about getting near your dress until all the products on your face have had time to set. If you need a touch-up later, have a friend or makeup artist do the honors. You don't even want to hold any makeup products in case you accidentally drop them or have makeup residue on your hands.

Curl Your Hair

The same rule applies for hair: have your hair styling completely finished before you step into your dress. If you're wearing your hair down for your wedding, this is even more crucial. You run the risk of heat tools coming in contact with your dress if you wear it while getting your locks curled or straightened. Continue wearing a button down or tank top until all your glamour needs have been taken care of.

Spray Perfume

Giving yourself an extra sprtitz of perfume in your wedding gown might seem harmless, but you don't want to risk the oils from certain perfumes leaving a mark on your dress. Apply perfume immediately before you put your gown on. If you feel the need for an extra perfume pick-me-up as the day goes on, use a roll-on stick and gently apply to your wrists.

Give Large Hugs

It sounds insensitive, especially surrounded by friends and family on your wedding day, but try to limit your hugs. Avoid getting too close to anyone with a drink in hand or an overload of face makeup. Go for the ever-awkward one-arm side hug to keep your distance and still show your guests some love.

Step Anywhere Near Puddles

They say rain on your wedding day can signify good luck, but unfortunately not for your wedding dress. If the weather doesn't bode well on your wedding, avoid any puddles or mud at all costs. Enlist the help of your bridesmaids to carry your dress hem whenever you're outdoors, or even force your hubby to carry you.
