Is There A Plan B For An Outdoor Ceremony?

Many wedding reception venues offer wedding ceremony rooms or outdoor locations for couples who want to keep things more casual. While outdoor ceremonies are beautiful, the weather is always a concern. Ask your venue if there's a backup plan for your ceremony if it rains after you choose to have an outdoor event.

Is There Handicap Access For Older Relatives?

Yes, your wedding is about you but you also need to keep your guests in mind-- especially those who are older. Ask you venue if there are ways to make getting around your reception or ceremony easier for your elderly relatives. Make it a note to give them the best seating and comfortable bathroom access.

Can You Switch Up The Food At Cocktail Hour?

The cocktail hour in between your wedding ceremony and reception is the best time for your guests to sit back and have something to drink. There are also plenty of food options during cocktail hour, and you may be asked to choose certain food stations for it. Ask your venue if you can be flexible with it if you want to swap a station out completely with more extra food at your favorite food station. You never know what they might be able to do!

Can The Menu Be Tweaked For Special Diets?

Ask your guests if they have any food allergies and keep that in mind when choosing your main entree menu. Look to see if the venue can accommodate any special diet requests, such as having dairy free or gluten free options. Your guests will appreciate the fact that you took them into consideration in that way.

How Can You Add Your Own Personal Touches To The Venue?

There are plenty of ways to add your own personal touches to your wedding venue. Ask the venue planner where you can set up your own displays or where you can add decor to personalize the venue location. Just remember not to go overboard by buying things you won't end up using.

Does The Venue Have Decor You Can Use?

It's also smart to ask your venue if they have their own decor you can use for your reception. Some venues may have centerpieces that you can use, which can definitely help you to save a lot of money by avoiding another DIY project. Not to mention, that's one less thing you have to worry about bringing to the venue in preparation for your wedding day.

Does The Venue Have Any Recommendations?

If your wedding reception venue has been in business for years they certainly know vendors that are reliable. Ask your reception planner if they have any vendor recommendations. They may be able to suggest amazing photographers, florists, bakers, videographers, or DJ companies to make your wedding the best one ever.

Is There A Payment Plan?

It's no secret that weddings can be expensive. Make sure you talk to your reception planner about all of the payments that you would have to make, and be in the know of any hidden fees. Also consult them about payment plans and ask if they have any plans available to help make your wedding a little more affordable.

How Far In Advance Should You Book Your Date?

If things are looking good at your desired venue location, ask and see how far in advance you should book it. Make sure there are available dates for you to have your wedding day at both the ceremony location and the reception location. Keep in mind, locations that attract many tourists, such as beach towns, may book up faster than others.
