Chili's is known for their delicious southwestern food (and their insanely catchy commercial jingles). But before you get your baby back, baby back ribs, you might want to read this. According to Eat This, Not That, you should avoid anything that has the word quesadilla in the title when you're at Chili's. None of the quesadilla options have less than 1,400 calories per serving. This includes the salads!
The worst contender at Chili's is the Beef Bacon Ranch Quesadilla. The jam-packed quesadilla has nearly a day's worth of calories and more fat than 10 hot dogs.
When you order at Chili's, don't expect your food to be mad fresh. One former Chili's employee admitted, "I cooked at a Chili's for almost 8 years. Almost everything comes frozen, even the Chili!! 90% of everything comes frozen.
If you're health conscious, you should avoid the Big Mouth Bites at Chili's. This dish features four burgers that each pack a little less than 400 calories. If you eat them together, you'll consume 1,580 calories and 28 grams of fat. The burgers also pack 2,930 milligrams of sodium.
You should also be aware of the sides you order. If you order the fries, fried onion strings, and jalapeno ranch dipping sauce at Chili's, be prepared to rack up the calories.
Chili's employees on Reddit recommend ordering the ribs. This dish may not be healthy, but former employee explains why the ribs are so darn delicious, "Chili's uses a pressure cooker to pre-cook the ribs, which helps maintain juiciness, then finished on the grill to give them that crunch on the outside. "
