It's easy to assume all fruits are equally healthy and that, even if we're trying to lose weight, it's perfectly fine to indulge in as many sweet fruits as our hearts desire. After all, fruits are rich in vitamins and minerals, right?

While that last point is 100 percent true and we'd never knock fruit, there are some key differences among fruits. If you're trying to lose weight or count yourself as one of many who snacks on dry fruits and ultra sweet fresh fruits like they're going out of style, it's important to remember that certain fruits can slow down your weight loss goals if you eat too many of them.
"These are lychees, bananas, cherries, figs, pomegranates, mangos, and grapes," says Dr. Scott Schreiber, a chiropractic physician, certified nutrition specialist, and licensed dietitian/nutritionist. "They contain high levels of sugar — lychees have 29 grams per cup! Figs contain 27 grams per cup, almost as much as your favorite candy bar."
Schreiber says he stressed that most fruit also contains high levels of vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals that promote health but going overboard can seriously slow your weight loss efforts.
"Remember: eating a banana will not send your weight loss to a grinding halt, but eat these in moderation," Schreiber says.
