Makeup used on the #NYFW runways is coming to a beauty counter near you, thanks to Derek Lam‘s new makeup line with Estée Lauder. Tom Pecheux, Estée Lauder’s Creative Director, created Derek Lam’s runway beauty look for the last 8 seasons so naturally, the two powerhouses collaborated on Derek’s first-ever makeup collection.
Launching in January, Derek Lam for Estée Lauder includes 5 products: eyeshadow in Smoked Gold, lip color in Smoked Blush, gloss in Barely Gold, Kajal Crayon in Near Night (navy blue) and mascara in Black Black. All 5 products will be available in a set, packaged in a navy satin Derek Lam clutch, for just $85.
The makeup collection, which was used backstage at Derek Lam’s Spring 2014 Fashion show, is similar in color and theme to his ready-to-wear clothing line. Derek says that’s no coincidence, telling WWD: “I wanted to translate what I’m seeing in fabrics and textures into the cosmetics.” The only thing that could make this makeup line better? If we had a shimmery Derek Lam gown to go with it. Hey, a girl can dream!
